Privacy Policy
Draft. This policy will be reviewed before Wahidah launches.
Wahidah ("we") is a Muslim prayer companion app. We built it privacy-first: no ads, no selling of data, and as little data as possible. This policy explains what Wahidah stores, where, and why.
Without an account
- Everything you do (prayer tracking, dhikr, Quran bookmarks, settings) is stored only on your phone.
- Your location is used on your phone to calculate prayer times and the Qibla direction. It is never sent to us.
- Notifications are scheduled on your phone.
If you sign in with Google
- We receive your name, email address and profile photo from Google through Firebase Authentication. Your photo is copied onto your phone for your profile and is not uploaded to our servers.
- With Premium backup, your personal progress (prayer and fasting log, dhikr, Quran bookmarks and reading plan, make-up prayers, adhkar, learned Names and favourite duas) is backed up to Google Cloud Firestore in Singapore (asia-southeast1). Only you can read it. It does not include your location, photos or payment details.
Community features you choose to use
- Dua Circle: duas you post are public inside the app with the display name you choose, and are removed from the list after 7 days. Others can say Ameen or report a dua. Reported duas may be reviewed by our moderators.
- Family: if you join a family, its members can see your nickname, which prayers you marked today, your week, streak and dhikr total. Only people with your family code can see this. You can leave at any time.
- Promo codes: we record which codes you redeem so each code is used correctly.
Purchases
Premium subscriptions are handled by Google Play or the App Store and managed through RevenueCat. We never see your card details.
What we never do
- Show ads or allow advertising trackers.
- Sell or rent your personal data.
- Read your private progress. Our administrators can only see totals and moderate public Dua Circle posts.
Service providers
Google Firebase (sign-in, database, hosting) and, for purchases, Google Play, Apple and RevenueCat. They process data for us under their own privacy terms.
Your choices and rights
- You can use Wahidah without an account, sign out at any time, and turn off any notification in the app.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your account and data by emailing support@wahidah.app. We aim to respond within 30 days.
Children
Children can use Wahidah with a parent, for example through Family. We don't knowingly collect personal data from children under 13 without a parent's consent.
Changes
If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above, and tell you in the app for important changes.
