About this surah
Surah Al-Fatihah (“The Opening”) is the 1st chapter of the Quran and has 7 verses. It is classed as Meccan, revealed before the migration to Madinah. It lies in Juz 1.
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَٰلَمِينَ
All praise is due to God, the Lord of the Universe;
ٱلرَّحْمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ
the Beneficent, the Merciful;
مَٰلِكِ يَوْمِ ٱلدِّينِ
Lord of the Day of Judgement.
إِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِينُ
You alone we worship, and to You alone we turn for help.
ٱهْدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلْمُسْتَقِيمَ
Guide us to the straight path:
صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ غَيْرِ ٱلْمَغْضُوبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ
the path of those You have blessed; not of those who have incurred Your wrath, nor of those who have gone astray.
